01 Who We Are
Abate Pro is an IICRC-certified, New York licensed damage-restoration company based in Saratoga Springs, working across the Capital Region since 2021. We handle water and fire damage restoration, mold remediation, sewage cleanup, flooded basements, burst pipes, and trauma and biohazard cleanup.
Most people who call us have never needed this service before and are dealing with it on the worst day of their year. So the job is not only drying a building. It is telling you plainly what happened, what it will take, what your insurer will want, and what the next week looks like.
We are based here, which means the crew responding to a Saratoga Springs call is not driving up from another market. It also means we know the housing: the plaster and lath that holds water, the unheated additions where lines split in January, the basements that take on water every spring.
02 How We Work
The water category, the affected materials and the moisture readings decide what comes out and what gets dried. Setting a standard equipment package before that assessment is how jobs end up over-demolished or under-dried.
Moisture meters on affected and unaffected materials establish a dry standard for the building, and equipment stays until the affected materials reach it. A wall that stops looking wet is not the same as a wall that is dry.
Photographs, daily moisture readings, an equipment log and a materials list, recorded while the work happens. Adjusters ask for the readings that justify what was removed, and reconstructing them afterwards does not carry the same weight.
New York Labor Law Article 32 licenses mold assessment and mold remediation as separate roles and bars one company from doing both on the same project. We remediate. We will tell you to hire an independent assessor rather than quote you for both.
03 Credentials
The IICRC sets the standards this industry works to: S500 for water damage restoration, S520 for mold remediation. They are what define the water categories, the drying requirements and the containment procedures referenced throughout this site.
Mold remediation in New York is licensed under Labor Law Article 32, in force since 2016. The same law keeps assessment and remediation separate, so we will always point you to an independent licensed assessor rather than assess and remediate the same job ourselves.
We work with every carrier and document losses the way a claim needs: photographs, daily moisture readings, equipment logs and materials lists, recorded as the work runs.
